About Super Tic-Tac-Toe
Super Tic-Tac-Toe expands traditional tic-tac-toe into a board containing nine interconnected 3×3 mini boards. Players place X or O marks while each move determines which mini board the opponent must play in next. Win individual mini boards and claim three of them in a row to win the overall match.
The primary objective is to win three mini boards in a row horizontally, vertically, or diagonally across the nine-board super board.
A player claims a mini board by making three matching marks in a row inside that board. If the required mini board has already been won or drawn, the next player may choose any open mini board.
Super Tic-Tac-Toe turns the familiar 3×3 tic-tac-toe concept into a nine-board strategy game. The main playing area contains nine separate mini boards, and each mini board contains nine cells. Players take turns placing their X or O mark in an available cell, but the chosen cell determines which mini board the opponent must play in next.
The central mechanic makes every move affect both the current mini board and the next turn. For example, playing in cell 5 sends the opponent to Board 5. If that destination board has already been won or drawn, the opponent can play in any other open board. Winning three cells in a row claims the corresponding mini board, while filling a board without a winning line seals it as a draw.
You can play against the CPU at Easy, Medium, or Hard difficulty, or choose the 2 Player mode for local matches. The game also provides strategy games for players looking for similar tactical gameplay and board games for more grid-based challenges.
The interface includes board-win tracking, a next-board indicator, pause, restart, hints, fullscreen, sound, music, and saved-game functionality. Completed matches end when a player controls three mini boards in a row or all boards become sealed.
How to Play
- Start a match with PLAY VS CPU or 2 PLAYER.
- Choose your CPU difficulty in Settings when playing against the computer: Easy, Medium, or Hard.
- The game begins with all nine mini boards open.
- Place your X or O in an empty cell of a playable mini board.
- The cell you choose determines the mini board your opponent must use next.
- Continue placing marks and try to create three matching marks in a row inside individual mini boards.
- When you win a mini board, it becomes claimed by your mark.
- If the board you are sent to has already been claimed or drawn, you may play in any open mini board.
- Claim three mini boards in a horizontal, vertical, or diagonal line to win the match.
- If every mini board becomes sealed without either player completing an overall three-board line, the match ends in a draw.
- During a match, Pause, Restart, Menu, and Hint controls are available. The current playable game can also be saved and resumed.
Winning & Losing Conditions
Winning Condition
A player wins by claiming three mini boards in a row horizontally, vertically, or diagonally on the nine-board super board.
Losing Condition
In a CPU match, you lose when the CPU claims three mini boards in a row. In a 2 Player match, the other player wins under the same condition.
If all nine mini boards become closed without an overall three-board winning line, the match ends as a draw.

Tips & Strategies
- Plan the destination board before making a move. The cell you choose sends your opponent to the corresponding mini board, so consider whether that destination gives them a strong opportunity.
- Look beyond the current mini board. A move can be useful because of the board it sends the opponent to, even when it does not immediately win the current board.
- Watch sealed boards carefully. If your move sends the opponent to a mini board that has already been won or drawn, they regain the ability to choose any open board.
- Build toward an overall three-board line. Winning a mini board is valuable because its position on the nine-board layout contributes directly to the final victory condition.
- Protect immediate mini-board threats. Before choosing a move, check whether the opponent can complete three marks in the mini board you are sending them to.
- Use the board indicator. The “PLAY IN BOARD” indicator shows the currently required mini board and can help avoid attempting moves in locked boards.
