About Tower Blocks

Tower Blocks is a 3D timing-based stacking game where you build a tower by placing moving blocks on top of one another. Click or press the spacebar at the right moment to align each new block with the one below it. The playable tower continues upward until a block completely misses its target.

The primary objective is to build the tower as high as possible by accurately placing each moving block on the block beneath it.

There is no traditional final level or completion screen; successful placements increase the tower and the displayed score.

Tower Blocks is a 3D block-stacking game centered on timing and precision. After starting the game, a rectangular block moves back and forth across the active stacking direction above the existing tower. Your job is to stop the moving block at the right moment so that it overlaps the block underneath it.

Use a click or the spacebar to place each block. If the moving block overlaps its target, the overlapping section becomes the next part of the tower, while any excess section is cut away and falls from the stack. The game alternates the direction in which successive blocks move, requiring you to adjust your timing as the tower gets higher.

A nearly perfect placement receives a special bonus treatment that preserves the block's full dimensions. The score increases as successful blocks are added, while the camera moves upward to keep the growing tower in view.

The round ends when a placed block has no overlap with the block beneath it. The game then displays the final score and provides a way to start again.

How to Play

  1. Start the game by clicking the Start button.
  2. A moving block appears above the existing tower and travels back and forth.
  3. Click anywhere or press the spacebar when you want to place the moving block.
  4. The game checks how much the moving block overlaps the block underneath it.
  5. If there is an overlap, the overlapping portion remains in the tower and any excess portion is removed from the stack.
  6. Continue placing blocks as the tower grows. The movement direction alternates between the two horizontal axes.
  7. Aim for accurate alignment because smaller overlaps reduce the size of the next block.
  8. Avoid placing a block completely outside its target.
  9. If a block has no overlap, the game ends and the score is displayed.
  10. Click or press the spacebar after game over to restart.

Winning & Losing Conditions

Winning Condition

There is no traditional winning condition. The game is an endless stacking challenge, and success is measured by how many blocks you can place before making a complete miss.

Losing Condition

You lose when the moving block is placed with no overlap with the block underneath it. The game enters the Game Over state and allows you to restart.

Features

  • 3D block-stacking gameplay
  • Endless tower progression
  • Alternating horizontal movement directions
  • Automatic block cutting when placement is imperfect
  • Score counter
  • Camera movement as the tower grows
  • Perfect-placement bonus behavior
  • Game Over screen
  • Restart functionality
  • Keyboard control with spacebar
  • Mouse/click control
  • Responsive canvas resizing

Tips & Strategies

  • Watch the block's movement rather than the tower height. The moving block reverses direction at the edges of its movement range, giving you a predictable window for placement.
  • Prioritize overlap over speed. A partial overlap keeps the game going, while a complete miss immediately ends the round.
  • Protect the usable tower width. Poor placements can make subsequent blocks smaller, leaving less room for accurate placements.
  • Use the alternating movement direction to anticipate the next placement. Successive blocks switch between the two horizontal axes.
  • Take advantage of near-perfect alignment. When the placement is extremely close, the game treats it as a bonus placement and preserves the full block dimensions.
