About Break Stone Ball

Break Stone Ball is an action arcade game where you control a rolling orange ball inside a bounded arena. Smash through stone blocks to clear the level and build your score, while avoiding bomb blocks that immediately cause the level to fail. Heavy blocks require more impact to destroy, making positioning and momentum important.

The primary objective is to destroy every non-bomb stone in the current level without hitting a bomb block. Destroying stones increases the score and can build a combo when blocks are broken in succession.

Break Stone Ball puts an orange ball in a rectangular arena filled with rows of stone blocks. Your goal is to destroy all safe blocks while avoiding the bomb blocks mixed into the layout. The ball moves through momentum-based physics, so you can influence its direction with keyboard controls or pointer input and use its movement to collide with blocks.

Normal blocks take one hit to destroy, while heavy blocks have 3 HP and require more damage. A high-speed collision can deal extra damage to a heavy block, making momentum useful when trying to clear tougher targets efficiently. Destroying blocks awards points, and consecutive destruction builds a combo multiplier that increases the points earned from later breaks.

The game contains 20 selectable levels, with later levels becoming available as you complete earlier ones. You can also pause the current level, restart it, or return to the main menu. How to Play

  1. Select Play Game from the main menu to begin at the currently unlocked level.
  2. Control the orange ball using WASD or the arrow keys on desktop.
  3. You can also hold and move the mouse/pointer on the game canvas to influence the ball's direction.
  4. On smaller screens, use the displayed virtual joystick to steer the ball.
  5. Move the ball into stone blocks to damage them. Normal blocks require one damage point, while heavy blocks have 3 HP.
  6. High-speed collisions can deal 2 damage to a block, which is particularly useful against heavy blocks.
  7. Avoid the dark bomb blocks marked with red details. Breaking one immediately fails the level.
  8. Continue until every non-bomb stone has been destroyed.
  9. After completing a level, choose Next Level or open Level Select.
  10. If you fail, choose Try Again to restart the current level.

Winning & Losing Conditions

Winning Condition

A level is completed when all non-bomb stones have been destroyed. Completing a level unlocks the next level.

Losing Condition

The level fails when the ball breaks a bomb block, triggering an explosion and returning you to the failure screen.

Tips & Strategies

  • Build momentum before hitting heavy blocks: Heavy stones have 3 HP, so a fast collision is more effective than repeatedly making weak contact.
  • Use high-speed impacts strategically: A collision above the game's speed threshold can deal 2 damage instead of 1, helping you remove heavy blocks faster.
  • Watch the red-marked blocks: Bombs look darker than normal stones and have red detailing. Do not deliberately collide with them.
  • Maintain your combo: A combo remains active for 2.5 seconds after a successful stone break, so breaking another safe block quickly increases the multiplier.
  • Use the arena borders: The ball rebounds from the boundaries, allowing you to redirect its path and approach blocks from different angles.
  • Do not rush blindly through dense rows: Since a bomb ends the level immediately when broken, plan your ball's trajectory around the safe blocks whenever possible.
