About Ragdoll Arena

Ragdoll Arena is a one-on-one physics combat game built around melee attacks and exaggerated ragdoll reactions. Control the player fighter, move around the arena, combine punches, kicks, heavy attacks, and a charged special attack to knock out the opponent. The game contains 50 progressively harder levels, including boss fights at every fifth level.

The primary objective is to reduce the opponent's health to zero and knock them out.

Secondary goals are to finish levels quickly, retain more than 60% of the player's health, and build a combo of at least three hits to earn up to three stars for the level.

Ragdoll Arena puts two fighters into a series of one-on-one physics-based combat matches. Your goal is to knock out the opponent by reducing their health to zero while using movement, jumping, punches, kicks, heavy attacks, and a charged special attack. Every successful hit applies physical knockback, with stronger attacks capable of sending fighters into a ragdoll state.

Movement uses left and right controls while attacks have different damage, reach, recovery, and knockback characteristics. Landing consecutive hits builds a combo, and successful attacks also charge the Special meter. When the meter is full, the Special attack can deliver a much stronger physical blow.

The campaign contains 50 levels with increasingly capable opponents and boss encounters on every fifth level. Six arena environments are used throughout the campaign, including Neon Arena, Factory, Rooftop, Cyber Zone, Desert Storm, and Void Realm. Progress and best star ratings are saved locally.

How to Play

  1. Select Play from the main menu to start from the highest unlocked level, or use Level Select to choose an unlocked level.
  2. Wait through the three-second Ready countdown until the fight begins.
  3. Move the player left or right to position yourself against the opponent.
  4. Use Jump to avoid attacks or change your position.
  5. Attack with Punch, Kick, or Heavy Attack. Each attack has different damage and knockback strength.
  6. Continue landing hits to build a combo and charge the Special meter.
  7. When the Special meter is full, use Special for the strongest available player attack.
  8. Reduce the opponent's health to zero to complete the level.
  9. Avoid taking enough damage to reduce your own health to zero.
  10. After winning, the game awards up to three stars based on speed, remaining health, and combo performance.

Winning & Losing Conditions

Winning Condition

The opponent is knocked out when their health reaches zero. The level is then completed and the player receives a star rating based on completing the fight in under 30 seconds, finishing with more than 60% health, and achieving a three-hit-or-more combo.

Losing Condition

The player is defeated when their health reaches zero. The game displays the DEFEATED! screen and provides options to retry the level, select a level, or return to the main menu.

Tips & Strategies

  • Use punch for quick pressure: Punch has the shortest startup and recovery of the standard attacks, making it useful for maintaining a combo.
  • Use kick for knockback: Kick deals more damage than punch and applies stronger knockback, making it useful when you need to create space.
  • Save Special for a clear hit: The Special attack has the highest damage and knockback, so use the fully charged meter when you can reach the opponent reliably.
  • Build combos before the finish: A combo of three or more hits contributes to the three-star rating, so avoid ending the fight before establishing a combo if you are pursuing a perfect rating.
  • Protect your health for the second star: Finishing with more than 60% health earns the health-based star, so avoid unnecessary exchanges when the opponent is already heavily damaged.
  • Expect stronger later opponents: Enemy health, movement speed, aggression, reaction time, knockback resistance, and damage scaling increase through the campaign, while boss levels use additional strength and power mechanics.
