About Mahjong Tile Match

Mahjong Tile Match is a stage-based tile-matching puzzle played on a green Mahjong-style board. Select two identical tiles and connect them with a clear horizontal or vertical path containing no more than two turns. Clear every tile from the board to complete the stage, build combos for higher scores, and continue to increasingly larger boards.

The primary objective is to clear every tile from the board by matching identical tile pairs that can be connected by a valid path.

Each successful pair:

  • Removes two tiles.
  • Adds points to the score.
  • Awards 5 coins.
  • Can contribute to a combo when matches are made within the combo window.

Clearing the board completes the current stage and awards a 50-coin completion bonus.

Mahjong Tile Match is a Mahjong-inspired puzzle game focused on identifying identical tile pairs and finding a legal route between them. The board contains traditional-style symbols including Chinese-number tiles, wind tiles, dragon tiles, dot tiles, and bamboo tiles. At the beginning of a stage, the tiles are arranged in pairs across the board.

To make a match, select one tile and then select an identical tile. The two tiles can only be removed when a clear horizontal or vertical connection exists between them with no more than two turns. The route can also travel around the outside edge of the board, giving cleared spaces an important role in opening new matching opportunities.

Successful matches disappear and award points, while consecutive matches within four seconds increase the combo multiplier. You can use the Mahjong games or other matching puzzle games for similar tile-based gameplay.

Each stage provides three hints. A hint highlights a currently valid pair, while Shuffle rearranges the remaining tiles at no cost. If the board reaches a position with no available match, the game automatically reshuffles the remaining tiles. Progress, score, coins, hints, board state, and sound preference are stored locally so the current game can be restored later.

How to Play

  1. Start the game. A playable board is generated automatically, with Stage 1 shown in the header.
  2. Select a tile. Tap or click a tile to select it; the selected tile receives a gold highlight.
  3. Find its identical partner. Select another tile with exactly the same symbol.
  4. Check the connection. The pair must have a clear horizontal or vertical path with at most two turns. Empty spaces may be used, including routes around the board edge.
  5. Make the match. If the connection is valid, both tiles disappear and points are awarded.
  6. Use cleared spaces. Removing tiles creates new routes and can make previously unavailable pairs matchable.
  7. Use assistance when needed. Each stage starts with three Hint uses. Shuffle can rearrange the remaining tiles without costing coins.
  8. Build combos. Make another successful match within the four-second combo window to increase the combo multiplier.
  9. Clear the board. Remove all remaining tiles to complete the stage.
  10. Continue. After a successful stage, the game shows the completion screen and automatically advances to the next stage after a short delay.
  11. If a match is invalid, the selected tiles briefly shake and remain on the board.

Winning & Losing Conditions

Winning Condition

A stage is won when all tiles have been removed from the board. The game displays a Stage Clear screen, awards a 50-coin bonus, and automatically advances to the next stage.

Losing Condition

There is no traditional game-over or life system in the verified game code. If no valid match remains, the game automatically reshuffles the remaining tiles when possible rather than ending the stage.

Tips & Strategies

  1. Clear pairs that open the board. Removing tiles creates additional empty paths, so a pair that looks less convenient initially may expose several useful connections afterward.
  2. Look for two-turn routes. Identical tiles do not need to be directly adjacent. Check horizontal and vertical routes and remember that a valid connection can use up to two turns.
  3. Use the board edge. The connection algorithm allows a route to loop around the outside edge, which can make otherwise separated identical tiles matchable.
  4. Preserve your hints. Each stage begins with only three hints, so use them when you cannot identify a valid pair rather than immediately spending them on obvious matches.
  5. Build combos deliberately. A successful match starts or extends a four-second combo window. Matching again quickly increases the next match's score multiplier.
  6. Don't worry about dead positions. When the remaining tiles have no available match, the game automatically attempts to reshuffle them into a position with a valid move.

Levels

Multiple levels

The game uses stages rather than a fixed finite level count. The board grows as progression continues: the initial configuration is 6 rows × 8 columns, with dimensions increasing according to the stage number up to 10 rows × 16 columns. The number of tile types also increases as stages progress.

Score System

Yes

A successful match normally awards 100 points. Matches made within the four-second combo window increase the combo multiplier, so subsequent matches can award 200, 300, 400 points, and so on depending on the combo count. The game displays both the current score and hi-score.
