About Find the Difference

Find the Difference is a timed visual puzzle game where you compare two illustrated scenes and locate the changes between them. Each level contains a specific number of hidden differences, and you must find them before the countdown reaches zero. Correct discoveries increase your score, while incorrect taps reduce it.

The primary objective is to find every hidden difference between Scene A and Scene B before the level timer expires. Completing a level unlocks progression to the next level, while accuracy and hint usage affect the star rating.

Find the Difference is a level-based visual puzzle built around comparing two illustrated scenes. Each level presents Scene A and Scene B with subtle changes hidden among objects such as trees, flowers, animals, vehicles, stars, boats, and other themed artwork. Your task is to locate every difference before the countdown reaches zero.

The game contains 24 levels, beginning with three differences and progressing to later stages containing up to eight. Level themes include meadows, beaches, parks, gardens, forests, space, winter scenes, deserts, city scenes, underwater environments, and campsites. Click a suspected difference with a mouse or tap it on a touchscreen. Correct finds add 100 points, while an incorrect tap removes 25 points. You can also use limited hints to briefly highlight a remaining difference, but each hint costs 75 points. Remaining time contributes a bonus of 5 points per second when the level is completed.

For players who prefer timed challenges, timed games offers another relevant category to explore. Players looking for observation-based challenges can also browse brain games for similar gameplay.

How to Play

  1. Start the game from the main menu by selecting PLAY NOW, or open LEVELS and choose an unlocked level.
  2. The selected level briefly displays its name and the number of differences to find.
  3. Compare Scene A and Scene B carefully.
  4. Click or tap directly on an area where the two scenes differ.
  5. A correct find is recorded and increases the difference counter and score.
  6. Avoid incorrect clicks or taps because each mistake deducts 25 points.
  7. Use the HINT button when necessary. A hint briefly highlights one remaining difference and deducts 75 points.
  8. Find all listed differences before the timer reaches zero to complete the level.
  9. After completion, the game awards a 1–3 star rating and a time-based score bonus. You can continue to the next level, replay the level, or return to level selection.
  10. If time expires, the game displays TIME'S UP! and provides options to try the level again, open level selection, or return to the main menu.

Winning & Losing Conditions

Winning Condition

Find all differences in the current level before the countdown reaches zero. Completing the level records its completion, awards a star rating, saves the result, and unlocks the next level when applicable.

Losing Condition

The player loses when the level timer reaches zero before all differences have been found. The game then displays the number of differences discovered and offers a TRY AGAIN option.

Tips & Strategies

  • Compare matching areas between both scenes systematically instead of scanning randomly; differences can involve color, size, missing objects, or added objects.
  • Check small decorative objects carefully. Several levels hide changes among flowers, stars, rocks, animals, and other relatively small elements.
  • Avoid guessing with repeated clicks. Every incorrect tap costs 25 points, so confirming a visual difference before clicking protects your score.
  • Use hints selectively. A hint identifies one remaining difference but costs 75 points, so it is most useful when you have already searched the scenes thoroughly.
  • Work quickly when possible because completed levels receive an additional 5 points for every second remaining on the timer.
  • For higher star ratings, minimize mistakes and hints. Three stars require zero mistakes and zero hints; two stars allow up to two mistakes and one hint.
