About Crossy Road Dash
Crossy Road Dash is a 3D arcade adventure game where you guide a blocky character across roads, grassy areas, and tree-filled lanes. Move one step at a time while avoiding moving cars and trucks, and continue forward to increase your score. The run ends when a vehicle hits the character.
The primary objective is to move the character as far forward as possible without being hit by a car or truck. Each successful forward lane reached increases the displayed score.
Crossy Road Dash puts you in control of a blocky character navigating a continuously extending series of lanes. The playfield contains grassy areas, forest lanes with trees, and road lanes occupied by moving cars and trucks. Your main task is to choose safe movements and keep progressing forward while avoiding traffic.
The character moves in individual steps rather than continuous free movement. You can move forward, backward, left, or right, allowing you to position yourself between approaching vehicles and navigate around trees. Forest lanes can block movement where a tree occupies the destination position, so choosing an available route is important.
Road traffic moves horizontally across the screen, and cars and trucks can travel in either direction. Reaching a new forward lane increases the score shown in the upper-right corner. If your character overlaps a vehicle on a road lane, the game immediately displays a Game Over screen.

How to Play
- Start the game by loading the game page. The character begins on the starting grassy area.
- Control the character with the arrow keys or the on-screen directional buttons.
- Press Up or the forward button to move toward the next lane.
- Use Left and Right to change columns and position the character away from traffic.
- Use Down or the backward button to move back when needed, provided the character is not already on the starting lane.
- Watch the road lanes for moving cars and trucks before stepping into them.
- Avoid trees in forest lanes because occupied positions block movement into those spaces.
- Continue moving forward to reach additional lanes and increase the score.
- If a vehicle hits the character, the game ends and displays Game Over.
- Select Play Again on the Game Over screen to restart the run.
Winning & Losing Conditions
Winning Condition
There is no traditional final win condition confirmed in the game code. Success is based on progressing to increasingly higher lanes and increasing the score.
Losing Condition
The player loses when the character is hit by a moving car or truck. A Game Over screen appears with a Play Again button.

- Look before moving onto a road: Cars and trucks continuously travel across road lanes, so check their positions before stepping forward.

- Use backward movement when necessary: Moving backward can return you to a safer lane when advancing would put you directly into traffic.
- Watch truck lanes carefully: Trucks are longer than cars, so give them more horizontal clearance when crossing their lanes.
- Plan around trees: Forest lanes contain blocked positions, so use adjacent columns when a tree occupies your intended destination.
- Prioritize safe forward progress: The score increases when you successfully advance to a higher lane, so unnecessary lateral movement does not directly increase the score.
