About Color Pencil Run
Color Pencil Run is a color-matching arcade runner where a pencil automatically moves forward along a three-lane track. Shift between lanes to collect color shards, pass through matching color gates, avoid obstacles, build combos, and reach the finish line of each level.
The primary objective is to guide the automatically running pencil to the finish line without losing all three lives.
Secondary goals are to:
- Pass through gates matching the target color.
- Collect color shards for additional points.
- Maintain combos through successful matching gates.
- Finish levels with as many lives remaining as possible to earn more stars.
- Unlock the next level by completing the current one.
Color Pencil Run is a three-lane arcade runner built around lane movement, color matching, and obstacle avoidance. The pencil runs forward automatically while the player controls its horizontal position. The HUD displays the current level, score, progress toward the finish, and the color that should be matched at upcoming gates.
Move between the three lanes using the left/right keyboard controls, mouse dragging, or touch input. Collecting a color shard awards points and changes the pencil's displayed color. Passing through a gate with the current target color awards points and increases the combo, while passing through a different-colored gate breaks the combo without removing a life. Obstacles are the main physical hazard and cost one life when hit.
The game contains 20 progressively harder levels, with later levels increasing running speed, obstacle frequency, moving obstacles, gate frequency, track length, and the number of possible colors. Completing levels unlocks subsequent stages and awards up to three stars based on lives remaining.

How to Play
- Select PLAY/CONTINUE from the main menu, or choose an unlocked stage through SELECT LEVEL.
- The level begins with a short countdown before the pencil starts running automatically.
- Watch the target color displayed in the HUD at the top of the screen.
- Move the pencil horizontally between the three lanes to position it for gates, color shards, and obstacles.
- Pass through gates that match the displayed target color to gain points and increase your combo.
- Collect color shards to gain additional points and change the pencil's displayed color.
- Avoid track obstacles. Hitting one removes a life and resets the combo.
- Continue along the track until the finish line is reached.
- Completing the level records the score, awards stars according to remaining lives, and unlocks the next level when applicable.
- If all three lives are lost, the level ends with GAME OVER and can be retried.
Winning & Losing Conditions
Winning Condition
A level is completed when the pencil reaches its finish line. Completing a level unlocks the next stage when applicable.
Losing Condition
The player gets GAME OVER after losing all three lives by colliding with obstacles. The player can then retry the level or return to the home screen.
Passing through a wrong-color gate does not remove a life; it resets the current combo.

Tips & Strategies
- Watch the target-color indicator before reaching a gate. The HUD shows the color you need to match, so position the pencil in advance rather than reacting at the last moment.
- Prioritize obstacles over collectibles. A color shard gives points, but hitting an obstacle removes a life and resets your combo.
- Use successful gates to build a combo. Matching gates increase the combo, and both gate and collectible scoring receives a combo-based bonus.
- Do not treat every gate as a life hazard. A wrong-color gate breaks the combo but does not cost a life, so avoiding an obstacle is the more important immediate concern.
- Move early on later levels. Higher levels increase speed, obstacle frequency, moving-obstacle frequency, gate frequency, and track length, leaving less time for late lane changes.
- Preserve lives when chasing three stars. The level rating is based on lives remaining: finishing with all three lives earns three stars, two remaining earns two stars, and one or fewer earns one star.
